We are seeking Intermediate Civil/Structural Engineers for our Civil/Structural Department located in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will report to the Civil/Structural Engineering Lead, working closely with peers on Oil and Gas facilities – primarily in the Province of Alberta.

Responsibilities:

  • Design of earthworks associated with oil and gas facilities
  • Design of piling and compacted gravel/concrete foundations
  • Design of pipe rack, equipment module, and building structural steel
  • Review vendor drawings for civil/structural accuracy/information
  • Producing material take-off, material requisitions and purchase orders for civil/structural commodity material
  • Visit construction/plant sites and fabrication shops vendor fabrication/construction design phase on as required basis
  • Provide construction support at job site when required

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized technical institute.
  • 10 to 15 years of petrochemical, oil and gas facility practical design experience
  • APEGGA (or provincial profession association equivalent) membership in good standing
  • Working experience with S-Frame and S-Steel is required
  • Working knowledge of the National Building Code, Canadian Institute of Steel Construction handbooks and practices, applicable ASTM, ANSI and CSA standards, and Alberta OH&S and environmental legislation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, working well within a small but dynamic team environment, interfacing on a Professional level with all co-workers
  • Experience working on SAGD projects as asset.
  • Practical on-site experience is an asset
  • Results oriented individual who understands the need to produce quality designs, within budget and schedule constraints
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
