We are seeking Intermediate & Senior Electrical Designers for our Electrical Department located in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will report to the Lead Designer of Electrical and Instrumentation, working closely with peers on Oil and Gas facilities – primarily in the Province of Alberta.

Responsibilities:

• Design and checking of all power, grounding, lighting & electric heat tracing layouts without supervision (with minimal supervision).
• Design associated single lines, panel/cable schedules, schematics and wiring diagrams with supervision (with minimal supervision).
• Design electrical 3D model on CADWORX preferred.
• Experienced with review of vendor drawings for electrical details and Electrical/Instrument/Controls interface data.
• Produce material take-off, material requisitions and purchase orders for electrical commodity material.
• Visit construction/plant sites and fabrication shops vendor fabrication/construction design phase on as required basis.
• Provide construction support at job site and perform pre-commissioning and start-up activities for electrical systems when required.

Qualifications:

• Suitable technical experience or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from a recognized technical institute.
• Experience is required in lighting, cable tray layouts and EHT design.
• Working experience with CADWORX drafting including 3Dmodel is required.
• Instrumentation and Controls experience is an asset.
• Good interpersonal skills, working well within a small but dynamic team environment, interfacing on a Professional level with all co-workers.
• Practical experience on-site with commissioning and start-up is an asset.
• Results oriented individual who understands the need to produce quality designs, within budget and schedule constraints.
• Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, Alberta Oil and Gas Facilities Code.
• Good verbal and written communication abilities.
