Intermediate Electrical Engineer
We are seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer for our Engineering Department located in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Electrical and Instrumentation, working closely with peers on Oil and Gas facilities – primarily in the Province of Alberta.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Designers in development of drawing packages.
- Development of bid packages for Procurement of Electrical Material, and technical review of bidder quotations.
- Apply design measures to optimize Capital as well as Operating cost efficiencies to Projects.
- Participate and contribute to HazOps, Risk Assessments, 3D Model Development and Reviews.
- Develop designs with a focus on Safety, Environment, Reliability, Operability, Access and Maintenance.
- Develop Hazardous Area Classifications for Oil and Gas facilities.
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. Electrical Engineering with 5 to 10 years engineering experience.
- P.Eng designation in Alberta (APEGGA), or eligibility for registration.
- Knowledge of ETAP Program for Electrical modeling preferred
- Instrumentation and Controls experience is an asset.
- Good interpersonal skills, working well within a small but dynamic team environment, interfacing on a Professional level with all co-workers.
- Practical experience on-site with commissioning and start-up is an asset.
- Results oriented individual who understands the need to produce quality designs, within budget and schedule constraints.
- Overall understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Good verbal and written communication abilities.
